In this internship my colleague and I implemented a collision avoidance algorithm using computer vision. The goal of this research was to make a program for drones to detect each other in the sky and change their path in order to avoid any collisions. On the first day, when I started to do this internship, I didn't know anything about computer vision and flying drones. I learned everything by myself or through the internet and got the best results in the program. In this internship I learned that to be successful and implement my ideas persistence is important. My next academic goal is to continue studying hard, to secure some internships, and to publish some papers. I would definitely recommend this program for future MESA students. This program provided lots of facilities for research and had very helpful mentors. It was at Auburn University which has one of the most beautiful campuses I have ever seen. They provide housing, food, and a $4000 stipend.
