MESA's Annual Research Poster Project Symposium

The MESA's annual Research Poster Project Symposium provides an opportunity for community college students to begin building undergraduate research experience before attending a 4-year university. Community college students often do not have the same research opportunities as students at 4-year universities, making the transition to research positions at CSU, UC and private colleges difficult. Through the MESA research poster projects, students can gain the necessary knowledge to apply for internships at research institutions.

In addition, some of our MESA students have the opportunity to work side-by-side with senior engineering students from Sonoma State University through the Pathway to Engineering (PtE) Internship. This internship is a unique opportunity for students of both campuses to work with each other, learn from each other, and complete a real working product.
